Part 5
Rosh HaShanah-Ha Melech; The Coronation of the Messiah
12 As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time. 13 "I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion.
Typically in Israel the Kings were crowned on this day. From Adam on, it was recognized that God was the King of the World. It is on Rosh HaShanah that the Jews honor God for his Kingship and because the sound of the shofar is heard at the coronation of kings, the sound of the shofar on the Feast Trumpets reminds everyone that God is King of the Universe. The sound also reminds them that they are looking to the day when Messiah will come and rule the nations and judge the wicked. One of the reasons that Messiah was missed in his first coming was because He came as a suffering servant and not the King that they had expected. Jesus came the first time as suffering servant and prophet, he was resurrected priest, and will return as King of Kings.
When a king was enthroned in Israel there was a certain ceremony that was associated with this exalted position. First there was a declaration and a decree. Then the king receives the rod and scepter. The ceremony continues as the king takes the throne and sits there in authority. Then the subjects of the king make their acclamation by clapping and shouting, “Long live the king.” Then each subject stands before the king at his throne and pledges their allegiance to him. The king then commissions each individual as to what their job will be in his kingdom. This is the same pattern that we see throughout the scriptures concerning our Lord and King and His Kingdom. I’ve included just a few scriptures to show you the same pattern. God our Father has declared and decreed that His Son is King.
Psalm 2: 6-7 6 "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion." 7 "I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, 'You are My Son."
He has in this possession His Rod and His Scepter.
Ps 2: 8-9 8 “Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.”
Ps 45:6 “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom”
Jesus has been given all authority.
Mat.28: 18 “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
Jesus is acclaimed to be King of Kings
Matt 2:2 “Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords.”
Matt 27: 11 “Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."
Luke 23:38 “Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."
1 Tim 6:14-15…”Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords…,
Rev. 19:16 "And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Now Psalm 47 is known to be a coronation psalm. Pay close attention to words of the Psalm because there are hints that point to Rosh HaShanah; the day of Yeshua’s coronation.
"To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! 2 For the LORD Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. 3 He will subdue the peoples under us, And the nations under our feet. 4 He will choose our inheritance for us, The excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah5 God has gone up with a shout, The LORD with the sound of a trumpet. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! 7 For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding. 8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne. 9 The princes of the people have gathered together, The people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.”
Yeshua’s coronation is expected to take place on Rosh HaShanah. I believe that we will meet Jesus in the air and the wedding and coronation of Messiah will take place in heaven on some year during Rosh HaShanah.
John gives us a glimpse of the scene in heaven which leaves us with no doubt about the coronation taking place in heaven with the people of God that have been caught up in the air to be with Him for a time before returning to the earth..
Rev. Chapter 5 “And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?" 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. 4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals." 6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. 8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth." 11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!" 13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!" 14 Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever."
We can see from this scripture that the throne is surrounded by thousands upon thousands bowing in worship to the King of Kings because they have been redeemed by His blood and have been appointed to rule and reign with Him upon the earth. The earlier scripture in Daniel also speaks of thousands upon thousands. Although it is clear that this scene is in heaven, earth will be the place that they will return to in order to rule and reign with Yeshua for the 1000 years that is prophesied about in the following scripture:
Rev. 20: 4-6 “And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”
The Kingdom of God has come, is coming, and will be forevermore. We who are in Christ experience His Kingdom every day because He rules and reigns in our hearts. Earlier I pointed out that the subjects of the king stood before him to receive their assignment as to what each job will be in his kingdom. Jesus followed this same pattern when He said to us,” Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Based on this pattern we will once again be given our assignments on what our job will be during the period of the 1000 years; when we are told that we will rule and reign with Him. As for me I do not care whether my job is to sweep the streets of gold or to keep the gates of pearl polished, as long as my name is written in the book of life, my assignment will be perfect.
We all look forward to the day of His coronation; however, for us, we have already crowned Him King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Yet we wait for that very special Rosh HaShanah when the sound of the shofar will split the eastern skies and we the Bride will be caught up in the air. I hope it will be on this year’s, “one long day” which is September 8-10th, don’t you?!
Maranatha! (come Lord Jesus come) This is probably just wishful thinking, since I think each of us has a lot more work to do in the Kingdom.

Part 5
The Coronation of the Messiah, which in Hebrew is HaMelech, and it is another name for Rosh HaShanah. The Jews believed that the Messiah would be crowned King when the totally righteous were separated unto God. We see this as the rapture of the Bride of Christ and when Jesus will be crowned King of Kings. Daniel speaks of this.
Dan. 7:9-14 ”I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, its wheels a burning fire; 10 A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, And the books were opened. 11 "I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn was speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame.
Rosh HaShanah is also known as the “Wedding of the Messiah”. Therefore this feast day speaks of the rapture, the wedding and the coronation all occurring on the same day.
Remember though this is known as one long day. It is a 48 hour period, so it will be a very exciting “one long day.”
