That Point to Yeshua
Part 1
Prophecy makes up twenty-seven percent of the Bible. In total we have around 1827 references in the Hebrew and Greek text about the coming of the Messiah. Many of these references refer to the same event told by different prophets. According to Mark Hitchcock here are 333 prophesies concerning the Messiah. Only 109 of them have been fulfilled with the Lord’s first coming; leaving around 224 that are yet to be fulfilled. This fact alone tells us that the Lord does not want us ignorant about His second coming.
Mathematicians have figured the odds of one single person fulfilling all 109 of the prophecies of His first coming (which history confirms; Jesus did fulfill) is so astronomical that our minds simply cannot possibly comprehend it. For instance Dr. Peter Stoner estimated the odds against just 48 of the 109 or so Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah to be fulfilled in one person. He calculated the odds at 1 in 10 to the power 157.
What it means for these prophecies to be fulfilled by just one person is: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
I cannot go on because the zeroes would continue to fill up the page. Jesus however fulfilled more than 48, He fulfilled 109. If the odds were to be calculated they would fill a book full of zero’s. These odds are so beyond what our minds can comprehend that one has to conclude that none of these predictions and their fulfillment has happened by chance. It is only possible because of the supernatural hand of God almighty who has written history in advance of it happening, through the prophets of old. History after all is of course, His story.
Dr. Mark Hitchcock has a new book on prophecy, called "The End" in which he mentions that there are more than 300 references to the Lord's coming in the New Testament, which has only 260 chapters. One out of every 30 verses in the New Testament contain prophesies of Messiah’s coming.
Twenty-three of the twenty seven books of the New Testament refer to the promise of His coming, and three of those were personal letters to individuals.The statistical data that I just presented is from the written word. Before we begin to examine those prophecies that are written about our Messiah, we are going to take a look at the prophetic picture of the Messiah that was available to the people of God before Torah was given.
Let's begin by looking at the calendar of antiquity. It is the oldest Messianic calendar known to mankind, written by the hand of God.
In order to know and understand what is going to happen in the end we need to begin at the beginning.
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
The Hebrew word for sign is לאתת laoth and it means appearing as a signal. Keep this in mind because I will be coming back to this thought.
The Jewish calendar is both a lunar and a solar calendar. The main purpose of the Jewish Calendar is to calculate the times of the appointed feasts of the Lord.
The main objective of the Gregorian calendar is to try and keep the spring equinox, which is the day that the sun passes the earths equator making the day and the night of equal length, as close to March 21st as is possible.
However, because of the discrepancies and the lost years in the calculating of the dates both the Jewish and the Gregorian calendars are in error, making it nearly impossible to accurately determined when the 6,000 year mark will take place. For instance we now know that Yeshua was born 3 years earlier than what was previously thought, making the timeline of before Christ and after Christ in error.
According to the Jewish Calendar of 5774 we have another 226 years to go before we reach the 6,000 mark and enter into the 7th year sabbatical rest, otherwise known as the Millennium. For multiple reasons, the Rabbi’s say that the Hebrew calendar has been miscalculated and is missing over 200 years, bringing us closer today to the year 5974 which is much closer to the 6,000 year mark on the Hebrew calendar than what was originally thought.
The Hebrew calendar is a lunar and solar based calendar, emphasis on the lunar, unlike our solar based calendar of 365 days. In my opinion this is problematic, because the feast days do not occur on the same date year after year. Another interesting little tid bit was found in the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. A Qumran calendar of 364 days was discovered, giving us data back as far as 25 years BC. Which would seem to indicate that the calendar used at the time of Yeshua was a solar calendar very close to our 365 day Gregorian calendar.
According to our calendar we are now entering our 14th year past the 6,000 day mark. Or we could say that we have entered the 7,000 year mark by 11 years if we were to subtract the three year error of Yeshua’s birth. We also need to take into consideration before the present Gregorian calendar of 1582, the church used the Julien calendar which was in error and behind the rotation of the moon by 10 days. Our conclusion is that the Messianic Era began some 2,000 years ago and that we are just years from entering the millennium reign of the King of Kings. After consideration of both calendars along with its errors, the adjustments bring us within just a few years either way of entering the 7th day.
Going back to that scripture, if the stars are a sign or a signal, what is it that they are signaling? From Adam to Moses the people were without the written word.
Therefore they were without the written word for around 2,500 years. Yet God had a witness, for His Story was written in the heavens, passed down from generation to generation until it became written.
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
מסר saw-far is the root word for declare and it means to score with a mark as to tally with a record. In other words to inscribe, or to enumerate, declare.
נגד naw-gad to put out front, to announce, predict
חוה khaw-vah this word has the sense to properly live or intensely, declare.
The following pictures are just a glimpse of our God’s handwork.
The message written in the heavens is a Messianic Prophetic calendar that speaks of the life of Yeshua. If the constellations speak of Christ, the question then arises as to how? This knowledge has obviously been handed down from generation to generation, from Adam Noah, from Noah to Moses, from Moses to the prophets.
Now, Job is generally accepted as the oldest book in the bible; and in this book that probably dates before Moses’ writings; we find the constellations are mentioned several times. Let’s take a look at Job.
In these verses the Lord is actually being very sarcastic with Job.
He questions him about his ability to create these stars and constellations as well as moving them through their yearly cycles.
This a picture of the symbol for the Mazzaroth which is spoken of in the book of Job, and a depiction of the twelve tribes of Israel.
The Lord asks Job “Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? No…only God himself is able to do that.
The Mazzaroth is the most ancient of Messianic Calendars and it is found in the heavens. From the beginning there has been a sacred message in the heavens. The Mazzaroth is divided into 12 Hebrew months. These 12 months also represent the 12 tribes of Israel. Every month is a chapter in the life of the Messiah. The message is told by the names of the stars.
Through the years these symbols and their meanings have changed and have evolved into the twelve signs of the zodiac.
According to E. W. Bullinger in his book The Witness of the Stars, the Greek word zodiac comes from the Hebrew word Sodi, which means “the way”. He says the word sodi refers to the way or path of the sun through the stars on its yearly cycle. Unlike the present day reference to the zodiac, this study is about the sun and the stars moving through 12 prophetic divisions in the heavens that speak of Messiah and His first and second comings.
Modern day Astrology is forbidden fruit for the people of God.
In addition to the sacred message, there has also been a perverted pagan message. I am not encouraging the practice of Astrology in any way whatsoever.
As we can see from the scripture, the Lord was angry with those that practiced Astrology.
I believe the reason that God hates Astrology and the astrologers so much is because Satan with his counterfeit has perverted the pictures in the heavens that tell the gospel story. Instead Satan has created a practice of fortune telling that focuses on the ego of individuals that deceives them about their image. When, in fact, our identity is based upon conforming to the image of our Messiah. What I am trying to do is to make us aware of how the ancients interpreted the signs in the heavens.
As you will see as we continue the Hebrew names that the Lord called the stars tell a prophetic story of the first and second coming of the Messiah.
The first star that I want to identify is Bootes or Bo in Hebrew
Bootes means “The Coming One”
Psalm 96: 13 …For He cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth
Next we are going to be looking at the stars and constellations that the Lord mentioned to Job, and the meaning of their names.
This next star is Arcturus. Ahyish עיש is the Hebrew name for Arcturus. Arcturus is associated with the Bear and its cubs. However Ahyish is not the bear leading her cubs…it is thought to be the star of Yeshua who leads the sons of men through the different constellations on a yearly cycle. The ancient belief was that this star represented Messiah and His followers traveling through the prophetic signs of heaven.
Notice the brightness of this star and compare it to the next slide which is the sun.
The Sun
This slide shows the relationship of Arcturus or Ahyish with our Sun.
Arcturus ends his yearly story telling in Leo the Lion King of the tribe of Judah. He is thought to be leading his sons to the valley of decision at the end of the cycle. His sons are all of Messiahs followers.
This is Keemah otherwise known as Pleiades.
כיםה Keemah an accumulation of stars referred to as the congregation…known to us as Pleiades
The cluster of stars called Pleiades represents the congregation of the ruler.
The Syrian name for Pleiades is Succoth or booths.
You’ll notice on the slide that Pleiades is located in the neck of Taurus the bull. The Hebrew name of Taurus the Bull is Shur which comes from the root word that means coming and ruling. The prophetic brush strokes in Taurus is a picture of Messiah, his coming to Judge and rule, and his Lordship of the whole earth.
Orion in the night sky from a distance
אדם Adom or The Southern Cross otherwise known as The Tav ת or the sign
The ancient way to scribe the last letter of the Hebrew Aleph Bet is in the form of a cross. Yeshua said that He was the Aleph and the Tav.
Arcturus begins by leading his sons through the sign of the Virgin and then into the sign of the scales where they pass the cross and head for the crown. Notice that the brightest star at the foot of the cross is the Crux. There are only 12 other stars known to be brighter than the Crux.
Adom which means “the cutting off.” Daniel spoke of the Messiah as being cut off. We know it as the Southern Cross because although it was visable over Jerusalem during Yeshua’s first coming it became invisable as it moved south, not appearing again until the sixteenth century in the southern seas near the cape of Africa.
Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
The Crux in the Night Sky
This is a picture of Atarah the Royal Crown. .
Arieh the Lion
The Hebrew name is Arieh and means, “the Lion.” It is used in the sense of a lion hunting down his prey.
The constellations and stars in this sign tell of the final victory.
I'll leave you with a chart regarding the Twelve Tribes of Israel and their meanings, as well as what the original meanings were with the Gospel in the stars and you will see how everything points to the Messiah.
