On the Biblical Calendar we are entering the month of Sivan and counting the days until – Pentecost. On Pentecost we celebrate the giving of the law and mourn the death of 3,000 people that were slain for worshipping the golden calf while Moses was with God receiving the law. Then moving forward in history we celebrate the giving of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost when 3,000 people were brought to life in the Spirit.
Traditional Jewish commentary tells us that at the giving of the law, i.e. the Torah that the children of Israel heard the voice of Lord and it is said that it sounded like a shofar or trumpet. In addition it is said that they saw the words as a fiery substance resting upon each person in the encampment. Likewise, when the people were gathered in the upper room on Pentecost and the Holy Spirit was poured out, tongues of fire rested upon the heads of everyone there as they began to speak in unknown tongues.
Rabbi Louis Ginzberg states that, “The third month was chosen for the revelation of the Torah because everything that is closely connected with the Torah and with Israel is triple in number.
The Torah consists of three parts, the Pentateuch, the Prophets and the Writings…The communications between God and Israel were carried on by three, Moshe, Aaron and Miriam. Israel also is divided into three divisions, Priests, Levites and lay men: and they are furthermore, the descendants of the three Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
For God has an inclination towards the third. It was the third of Adam’s son, Seth who became the ancestor of humanity and so too, it was the third among Noah’s sons, Shem, who attained high station…The number three, plays a particularly important part in the life of Moshe. He belonged to the tribe of Levi, which is not only the third of the tribes but has a name consisting of three letters (in Hebrew). He himself was the third of the children of the family; his own name consists of three letters: (in Hebrew)
In his infancy he had been concealed by his mother throughout three months; and in the third month of the year, after a preparation of three days, did he receive the Torah on mountain, the name of which consists of three letters.” (In Hebrew)
We add to his discourse, the wonder of the Godhead being in 3 persons, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. All 3 were active in the 3rd month on the day of Pentecost when the 3rd person of the Godhead, The Holy Spirit was poured out on the Believers in the Upper Room.
In 1533 a Jewish custom to stay up all night on Shavuot to study the Torah began and is practiced around the world even until this day. It began when Rabbi Joseph Caro invited other Rabbi’s to join him in holding all night study vigils on Shavuot. The Midrash relates that the practice is an effort to rectify that when Torah was given, the Israelites overslept on this momentous day.
In Jerusalem today thousands of people will finish off the study vigil by walking to the Western Wall before sunrise. This practice began in 1967. It was only one week before Shavuot of that year that the Israeli army recaptured the Old City in the Six-Day War. On Shavuot the army opened the Western Wall to 200,000 visitors that year. The Western Wall had been off limits to the Jews since 1948.
Pentecost occurs just 50 days from Passover and the counting of the Omar from Passover to Pentecost links it to Passover week and concludes the Spring Feasts that are the appointed times of the Lord. This study, like the other studies on the appointed times will show how Yeshua (Jesus) has revealed Himself precisely on the day that was appointed for His visitation. Pentecost is the Greek name which means 50, for the appointed feast of the Lord known in Hebrew to be Shavuot, which means seven weeks. It is the climatic celebration that…

Sound the Alarm!!!!!
"Blow you the trumpet in Zion,
and sound an alarm in my holy mountain:
let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:
for the day of the LORD comes,
for it is near at hand" Joel 2:1
Pray for America!
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peacable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (Yeshua)
1 Timothy 2:1-5

My Personal Pentecost
I was sharing one day with one of my customers about the awesome things that were happening in my life. I had gone over to her house to measure for the interior decorating changes that she and I were planning on making to spruce up her home. In those days I owned and operated a small interior design firm in my home town, Waukesha Wisconsin.
After I finished measuring for the new carpet that was to be installed, for some reason I began to share with her about the most recent miracle that had just happened because…

Enoch as a Picture of the Rapture of the Bride
Enoch’s name means “dedicated.” The very first picture that Enoch gives us of the Bride is that she is dedicated to her Bridegroom and He to her. Secondly Enoch is a place; a city was named Enoch, reminding us that Jesus is…

Noah as a picture of Israel through the Tribulation
Noah is a picture of Israel being saved during the tribulation. Noah’s name means to bring comfort and rest. So the very first thing to consider when looking at the pictures that are painted for us in the story of Noah is the meaning of his name. It is the Lord’s intention to comfort Israel and bring them into His Rest. In the first week of creation God designed the 7th day as a day of rest, with the promise that…

Our First Free E-Book
I have written an e-book on what the Bible has to say about homosexuality and why redefining marriage is such an affront to God. I labored over this work in order to answer the question: “Where in the Bible did Jesus condemn homosexuality?” The book is also an attempt to call the homosexual to repentance. We all have loved ones who because of their choice may separate themselves from God for all eternity. Jesus loves the Homosexual. He paid a great price for them. I love them too, far too much to keep silent.
A free copy of the book is available on my website. http://www.sweetmanna.org/EbookTableOfContents.html
Sweet Manna Update
In the last 18 months the website for Sweet Manna Ministries has been visited by people from 94 countries around the world. The United States of America of course has the most visitors. People from every state of the union have navigated to the ministry’s website, with California leading the pack.
Occasionally pastors and students of the word from America and aboard request study materials to be sent to them from the ministry. Shipping expenses to do so can be very costly, especially when sending material abroad. So in an effort to improve our method of disseminating information, Sweet Manna has added a new section to our website to include Free E-books.
Our books are free because we do not wish to merchandise the word of God. For, freely we have received and therefore freely we will give. The Free E-Books are available as PDF files, and Kindle. The free Amazon download for Kindle is also available for you on our website. We have published for your convenience our very first E-Book, as mentioned above.
In addition, we have also added the Google Translator to serve those countries that need to have English translated into their language. With these additions it is our hope that our website will be able to bless more people at home and around the world.
