We must ask ourselves, “What kind of tree am I?” “Am I producing good fruit?” If not, allow your roots to reach for the “Living Water,” that is there for you...just for the asking. Jesus is the living water necessary to nourish our souls and He is the only way to be reconciled to Father God. He is the Word that came in the flesh, and every word spoken by Him nourishes our soul. Without a personal relationship with the vine, i.e. Jesus, none of us are able to produce good fruit. Good fruit is the result of the Holy Spirit working in our lives.
The secret to producing good fruit is to be born of the Spirit of God, which Jesus called being “Born Again.”
FORMULA FOR PROSPERITY
Psalms 1:1-3 "Instead, his delight is in the LORD's instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."
Since 1890 Israelites have been planting trees on Tu B’ Shevat, The New Year for Trees. This custom began with a Rabbi taking his students to plant trees in an agricultural colony in the land. In the 20th century the day was devoted to planting eucalyptus trees to stop the plague of malaria. Today over a million Israelis take part in the Jewish National Fund’s Tu B’ Shevat tree-planting activities. The Fund boasts of having planted over 240 million trees in Israel.
Almond Trees are in full blossom in Israel during January and February, just in time to celebrate the New Year of the Trees.
Almond in Hebrew is שקד (shaked) and it means to watch diligently.
Prophetically the five petal almond blossom speaks of the Grace that the Bride of Messiah is clothed in as She waits and watches diligently for Her Jewish Messiah and Bridegroom, Yeshua to come for Her.

We have entered January in the year 2015 on our Julian/Gregorian calendar. The month was named after the Roman god Janus, known to be the god of beginnings and endings, and of gates and doorways. Janus was depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions. We find something quite different with the Biblical calendar. Each Biblical month begins with the sighting of a new moon. Therefore we entered the Biblical month of Shevat on the 21st of January.
The Jewish calendar celebrates four New Years; one of them occurs in the month of Shevat. During the month of Shevat the New Year of the Trees takes place. Once a year, the Jewish people take time to value the planting, growth, and reproduction of the trees, and the harvest of its fruit. Tu B’ Shevat, the New Year for Trees will be observed on February 4th this year.
We find throughout the scriptures that humans are compared to trees. A tree must have a healthy root system that reaches its water supply to nourish it. Without a deep and healthy root system a tree cannot produce good fruit. It is recorded in Matthew and again in Luke that John the Baptist used this analogy comparing trees to humans, when he said,
Luke 3:8-9 “Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire."
What then is good fruit worthy of repentance? Unless our root system goes deep and finds its way to “living water,” it cannot produce good fruit worthy of repentance.
Repentance requires consciousness of sin and our need for God. Sadly, our society today lacks consciousness of sin and in fact teaches just the opposite. There are circles that teach; there is no such thing as sin. Unfortunately, this kind of thinking is what is producing all the bad fruit we see today in our society. Bad fruit is identified in the scriptures as the work of the flesh.
Gal. 5:19-21 "Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I tell you about these things in advance--as I told you before--that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."
Every one of us is guilty of practicing the works of the flesh. The “good news” is that Jesus came to set us free from the bondage of sin. Then He sent us His Holy Spirit who helps us in our weakness. Once we accept the free gift of salvation and become “born again," we begin to produce the good fruit of the Spirit. The warning of not being able to inherit the Kingdom of God is only for those that are disobedient and without repentance and they continue to habitually practice the lusts of the flesh without any regard for a Holy God.
It is the work of the Holy Spirit and our obedience to the Word of God that produces the good fruit in our lives.
Gal. 5:22-26 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit. We must not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another."
